The A.H. Rice Silk Mill, Pittsfield Mass.
The Silk Mill was a dream come true. Almost. We set out to develop a 64-unit village for creative people... sharing a live-work complex in downtown Pittsfield.
Plans were drawn. All the envronmental requirements met. The City of Pittsfield onboard.
Sadly, with the 2008 meltdown of the economy, the banks decided they could no longer fund the project. We sold the three acre site in 2011. It is now a typical complex of rental units.
